Hotel del Pescador

This hotel is true gem. It’s a few kilometers west of Ajijic and in a relatively quiet location. There are spectacular mountain views to the North and Lake Chapala can be seen from the observation deck atop the game room. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. Perhaps my favorite memory will be getting awakened by the birds in the early morning. They offer traditional Mexican breakfast fare which is tasty and included in your stay.

Excellent spot to spend a few days. Enjoyed the heated pool and kind service throughout.

A different and quite delightful experience. The rooms are very small..the reception is very classy and impressive. The grounds and gardens and public areas are excellent and beautiful. The food was great and the delicious Sunday breakfast is included. The pool and spa pool are inviting and the team of staff are excellent and very helpful led by a wonderful Manager who takes great pride in his hotel. Once I got over the first impression that the room was in fact a container, I could take in the design and attention to details. Although small...it was in fact very comfortable. Excellent beds, we had a twin room. Marble flooring, functioning and efficient a.c.. Our own tiny manicured garden with flowers on top of our roof. Wonderful overhead rain shower in the bathroom with nice range of complimentary toiletries. Safe deposit box in the closet and even a little desk and a good flat screen tv with decent programming. I would personally have appreciated an armchair but obviously space constraints dictate the furniture in each room. Another suggestion would be extra pillows. Excellent. I would certainly recommend this hotel.

Rooms are unusual, half of them are containers that are modified for comfort, the foot is great specially the guacamole. The pool and the jacuzzi are relaxing, the only bad thing was the room that we stayed, the door did not want to lock and when it did the key/card got disabled but other that it was great.

Very friendly and helpful, they speak English somewhat. Clean! And great room service. Pool is lovely, breakfast delish with free coffee refills. The landscaping is beautiful at pool and area. It’s a good chance to visit outlying towns , along Lake Chapala (besides Ajijic) by taking the local bus right outside hotel .

Cute rooms with excellent air conditioning and hot water showers with good water pressure. The included breakfast was delicious (just wished it started around 730a), and the server was welcoming and enjoyable. The pool looked very inviting but unfortunately we didn't get a chance to use it. There is a wonderful restaurant next door (Rincon Espania) that we ate at twice. As we were visiting someone in Ajijic, and we didn't have a car, the hotel is a little way out from Ajijic. Thankfully, most of the buses stopped to pick us up in front of the hotel. I would definitely stay here again.

They cancelled my reservation less of a week to arrive limiting my posibilites of other hotels. I have to amend my review as there was a big flood in the hotel that has caused them to close their place
